Ecole thématique ETICS 2017

ETICS 2017 – École Thématique sur les Incertitudes en Calcul Scientifique Research School on Uncertainty in Scientific Computing

October 1-6 2017
Hôtel Club IGESA de Porquerolles

The goal of this school is to develop the skills of researchers and engineers in the domain of uncertainty management of computer codes. Some of the lectures will be followed by practical computer works. Collaborative works, round tables and poster sessions will promote exchanges between participants. The prerequisites to possess are the mathematical bases of the uncertainty quantification science.

Frontiers of Uncertainty Quantification in Engineering (FrontUQ)

FrontUQ 2017 / Frontiers of Uncertainty Quantification in Engineering

6-8 September 2017, Munich, Germany

Dear Colleague,

the GAMM Activity Group on Uncertainty Quantification organises an outreach workshop Frontiers of Uncertainty Quantification in Engineering (FrontUQ) on 6-8 September 2017 in Munich, Germany.

This workshop brings together mathematicians and engineers working in Uncertainty Quantification. The goal is to create a forum for academic and industrial researchers working on theoretical and practical aspects of uncertainty quantification and its application to different engineering fields, e.g. civil, mechanical, aerospace engineering and material science. The workshop will have the following focus areas: Rare events and reliability, Inverse problems and Bayesian analysis, and Optimization under uncertainties.

Keynote speakers:

  • Lori Graham-Brady, Johns Hopkins University
  • Max Gunzburger, Florida State University
  • Tinsley Oden, University of Texas at Austin
  • Costas Papadimitriou, University of Thessaly
  • Dongbin Xiu, Ohio State University

For detailed information please visit the conference website [frontuq2017.de]

Participation in the workshop is possible by a contributed talk or a poster presentation.

The workshop is now open to abstract submissions. You are kindly invited to submit an abstract of maximum 300 words before 31 March 2017.

We look forward to welcoming you in Munich!

Best regards,

Iason Papaioannou
